POLICE K9 TRAINER COURSE

Pacesetter K9 offers a 10 Week Police K9 Trainer Course.
During our K9 Trainer Course, students get onsite and off-site training, classroom study, and graduate as Certified K9 Trainers.
In addition to studying theory and procedures, we conduct numerous hands-on, realistic training scenarios such as traffic stops, tracking in various terrain, vehicle and locker searches, take down, and other necessary scenarios.
See the course description below for more information. Pacesetter K9 has an onsite dorm facility for visiting officers / students to stay in while attending training courses and certification.

This course will introduce the various safety techniques in dog training.

OBEDIENCE TRAINING
In this course, students will be introduced to obedience training theory and practical application.

MAXIMIZING THE IMPACT OF DRUG SCENT EVIDENCE

NARCOTICS DETECTION
In this course, the student will be introduced to both the theory and practical application of narcotics detection work.
During that time we cover:Detector Dog Training, Validation, and Legal considerations.Drug dogs in court.Managing Narcotic K9 Operations.Narcotic Handling and Storage procedures.Climactic Effects on Scent Work.Scent Theory.
DETECTION
In this course, the student will be introduced to both the theory and practical application of detection.

PATROL & BITEWORK
In this course, the student will be introduced to both the theory and practical application of police patrol work and bitework.
During that time we cover:Controlled aggression.Agitation.Out, Attack, False Run, Re-Attack, Escort, Gunfire, Cover.Scouting and factors affecting a dog’s ability to scout.Building Search.Tracking.Decoy Techniques.
