Narcotic Detector Dog Handler Course
Our Narcotic Detector Dogs Handler Course is a 2 week (80 hour) course.
During that time we cover:
Canine Safety
Care and Basic First Aid
Legal process and Legislative Updates
Obedience and Training Scenarios
Narcotics Detection
Advanced Detection
Our Narcotics Detection Search Training includes vehicle, luggage, packages, and building searches.
At the end of the course, the students will conduct a certification to assure proficiency in the practical applications covered in the course.

Explosives Detector Dog Handler Course
Our Bomb Dog Handler Course is a 3 week course.

Dual Purpose Police Dog Handler Course
Dual Purpose Handler Course is 4 weeks.
After completion of the 2 week Narcotic Detection Course, our Dual Purpose Dog Handler Course offers two more weeks of training
During that time we cover:
Tracking
Handler Protection
Controlled Aggression
Building Searches for Suspects
Vehicle Bailout (should officer be in danger)
Simulated Gunfire Scenarios
Decoy Techniques
At the end of the course, the students will conduct a certification to assure proficiency in the practical applications covered in the course.
Annual Recertification Course for K9 Officers
Pacesetter K9 LLC also offers an annual recertification course to cover Drug Dogs and Narcotics Detection Dual Purpose Dogs, Currency Detection and Currency Dual Purpose Dogs, and Bomb Dog and Explosives Detection Dual Purpose Dog teams.
This course is 3 days (24 hours) and covers the following:
Day 1: This will be an evaluation of the K9 team. We are looking at the dog’s odor recognition, the handler reading the dog’s change of behavior and how the team works together. We will be working on building, luggage, vehicle and open area searches to evaluate all working aspects on the K9 team.
Day 2: This consists of training. First we correct any issues we observed on day 1. Once complete, we start advanced training. We teach the handler how to better their training to advance their dog’s working capability.
Day 3: Certification day entails searching all training areas. There are 6 areas to search and only 5 training aids. The handler and canine must find all 5 training aids and determine what area was intentionally left blank.
